Marcus was a fellow artist participating in the Land Art Biennial 360˙ Mongolia. We made our work in the Ikh Gazriin Chuluu Gobi Desert for one week in August. I was invited by Marcus to document his private performance ‘The Visible and The Unconscious’ with our friend Anna Macleod, who shot video. After his performance I shot some artist portraits of him. He was an incredibly sensitive being- who had a tattoo that says: ‘The artist is warrior’.
He passed away very suddenly this week at the age of 27 while in Turkey where he was preparing for a project. Marcus’ spirit and talent will be missed greatly! The clouds are his now…
